Emulsion KR 2 – by Tech-Dry

This innovative admixture is specially formulated for use in pressed concrete products, improving long-term resistance to weathering and water uptake and keeping your products looking great for life.
Recommended Uses:
Emulsion Kr2 is added during the manufacture of pressed concrete products including load-bearing blocks, decorative blocks, coloured blocks, and blocks for retaining walls and basements. It can also be added into concrete pavers or other similar pressed concrete masonry products or procedures. (Note: This product is not recommended for aerated concrete masonry or wet-mix concrete products.) Some features of Emulsion Kr2 pressed concrete include:
- Reduces water absorption and efflorescence by more than 80%.
- Product remains permanently bonded to the substrate and cannot be washed out.
- Does not leave an oily residue on the masonry substrate.
- Easy to use in any existing processes.
- The degree of water resistance can be varied by changing the rate of addition.

Silipell SP2 – by Tech-Dry
Put water repellent nanotechnology to work in your wet-cast projects with Silipell SP2. Mixing this advanced additive with concrete virtually eliminates water permeability and efflorescence. Silipell SP2 upgrades the lifetime quality of concrete masonry by significantly reducing water uptake. Less water intrusion means less efflorescence – for life.

Silipell SP2is designed as a water-repellent admixture for use in the manufacture of wet-cast concrete products including ready-mix concrete, pre-cast concrete, mortar, renders and other cementitious products. Some the features of Silipell SP2 include:
- Reduces water absorption and efflorescence.
- Bonded to the substrate and cannot be washed out.
- Leaves no oily residue on the concrete substrate.
- Easy to use in any existing concrete process.
- The degree of water resistance can be easily varied by changing the dosage rate
Tech-Dryad Mortar Additive – by Tech-Dry
Our high-performing water repellent Tech-Dryad Mortar Additive is designed for cement/sand mortars. More than improving water resistance and reducing efflorescence, it improves mortar adhesion to water repellent blocks (or Tech-Dry Blocks) and improves mortar workability
Recommended Uses:
Tech-Dryad Mortar Additive is recommended as a water repellent admixture for cement/sand mortar and is designed specifically for laying water repellent concrete blocks (or Tech-Dry Blocks) made with Tech-Dry Block Emulsion. It may also be used as a water-resistant admixture for other cement/sand mixtures such as cement/sand renders or concrete masonry. Some notable features of Tech-Dryad Mortar Additive include:
- Non-toxic water-based formulation.
- Improves workability of cement/sand mortars.
- Increased adhesion of cement/sand mortar.
- Reduces water penetration, efflorescence, and water-borne staining.
- Does not significantly change vapour permeability of cement/sand mortars.
- Easy to use and cost effective.
Tech-Dryad Quickset – by Tech-Dry
Our Tech-Dryad Quickset admixture is used as a setting accelerant in cement mortars. It is designed to be used with Tech-Dryad Mortar Additive to accelerate mortar setting times when laying Tech-Dry Blocks in colder climates or when temperatures are low. Tech-Dryad Quickset is a go-to solution whenever faster setting mortar is required.
Recommended Uses:
We recommend Tech-Dryad Quickset paired with Tech-Dryad Mortar Additive at a dosage rate of 0.5 to 1 litre per 40kg cement at a cement/sand ratio of 1 to 4. Note that higher doses are required if temperatures are low. Tech-Dryad Quickset should only be added after Tech-Dryad Mortar Additive has been added and thoroughly mixed; please do NOT pre-mix Tech-Dryad Quickset with Tech-Dryad Mortar Additive.
Alternatively, you can mix 300ml Tech-Dryad Mortar Additive with 2 shovels (approximately 12 kg) of cement and 10 shovels (approximately 60 kg) of sand. Blend the mortar mix thoroughly and then add 150 to 300ml of Tech-Dryad Quickset. Continue mixing until desired consistency has been achieved. If required, add water to adjust consistency.
Please note that the dosage rate may vary depending on temperature and set time required for the job specification. Increase or reduce the addition rate accordingly. The above dosage rate will accelerate the setting time by approximately 1 hour at 20°C. Increase the dose if the temperature is lower or if faster setting is required.
The consumption of Tech-Dryad Quickset varies significantly. 20 Liters Tech-Dryad Quickset will lay up to approximately 2000 Tech-Dry Blocks.
Please note: To assure proper results and as cement mortars vary significantly, we strongly recommend thorough testing prior to application. This product is not suitable for use in warm/hot climates or when temperatures are high.
